Women’s History Month Event/Recognition Opportunity
Inspired by the National Women’s History Month 2011 theme “Our HISTORY is Our Strength”, multi award-winning writer and journalist Darlene House will host free Remarkable Reprints Revisited II.: Strong Women in Our History Tribute. It is scheduled for Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Truth Bookstore in Southfield’s Northland Shopping Center from 3 – 6 p.m. The Remarkable Reprints Photo Gallery will make its debut. A 4 p.m. program spotlights Mary Jones, the longtime protégé of Dr. Austin W. Curtis (also known as Baby Carver) and the third link in the legacy started by Dr. George Washington Carver. Jones is also one of the remarkable women featured in House’s book, Remarkable Reprints: A Collection of Acclaimed Articles and Crowd-Pleasing Columns. Remarkable Strong Women Recognition Project nominees will be honored at the event, too.
It is easy to nominate a strong woman in your personal history for recognition at the Remarkable Reprints Revisited II. National Women’s History Month signature event.
