2008 Theme: Enjoying Beautiful Creations with Inspiring Revelations.
Purpose: To acknowledge impact contemporary and historic role models have on our lives. Individuals chosen for recognition may include celebrities, historic figures, relatives, friends, colleagues and associates. Celebrate with creative projects and activities featuring historic role models and by spending time with contemporary role models.
Literary Leaders
Awards: In 2006, these three awards were presented for the first time during the Essence of Motown Writers Conference. Powerful Prolific Pioneer Award was presented in honor of historic or contemporary role model/company or organization actively involved with practicing/advocating professional writing-related careers and the process of mentoring others. Significant Scribe Supporter Award was presented to a contemporary role model/company or organization actively involved with practicing/advocating professional writing-related careers and the process of mentoring others. Creative Writing Artistic Commemorator Award was designated for nominee who showed an appreciation for the field of writing through single work of art or project. New Activities/Events: In 2008, several celebration components will be added. The NIRMM Recommended Reading List will be shared with thousands of people. Special events include NIRMM Salute featuring calligraphy expert with beautiful writing insights. A southeastern Michigan tri-county Inspirational Writing Workshop Series will be launched in conjunction with Detroit Working Writers. This fall also marks the publication of Remarkable Reprints: A Collection of Acclaimed Articles and Crowd-Pleasing Columns by NIRMM Originator Darlene House.
