About NIRMM

National Inspirational Role Models Month, or NIRMM, is an annual month-long celebration originated in 2005 by Darlene House, Chief Communications Specialist and Owner, House of Communications. Her Ultimate Historic Role Model is Ida B. Wells Barnett. 2023 NIRMM Brochure (PDF)

The Purpose of NIRMM:  To acknowledge impact contemporary and historic role models have on our lives.  Individuals chosen for recognition may include celebrities, historic figures, relatives, friends, colleagues and associates.  Celebrate with creative projects and activities featuring historic role models and by spending time with contemporary role models.

Note: NIRMM is now a signature component of National Inspirational Role Models Visionaries (NIRMV), a 501 (c) (3) public charity. NIRMV Director/Treasurer Cynthia Hines serves as the NIRMM Coordinator.

Don’t forget to contact us to share your NIRMM celebration highlights. We want to know about who inspires you and what is done to honor them.
